Austin CINEVERSE is a screenplay competition that selects and screens a range of genres, from science fiction to animation, from horror to historical, and all the brilliance that lies in-between and puts genre scripts to the for front of what we do!
Part of CinéCiné’s alliance of indie festivals around the world, this is a great opportunity to get your work seen both in the USA and globally.
We pride ourselves on our diverse and open community that gathers around our passion for films featuring a wide range of themes and genres. From a tiny Canadian cinema to a global genre phenomenon, Hybrid Genre is made by genre filmmakers FOR genre filmmakers. Canadian, French, Colombian, Texan, Australian; we’re from everywhere! We love every mashup of genre flavors and we can’t wait to screen your new work.
In addition to screening opportunities, films that are selected for HYBRID GENRE have the opportunity to win a variety of awards, accolades, distribution opportunities, and prizes. Our awards are IMDb certified!

Official selections of our festival are screened this year at Eastwood Performing Arts Center, a gorgeous cinema in LA. Filmmakers are encouraged to join us at these events for Q&As, for an awards presentation, and an opportunity to mingle with an enthusiastic audience.

Drew MacPowell is a Los Angles based Director and Producer. His love for storytelling has grown from spending time with people from many different cultures. The thing he loves most about film is the collaborations and friendships made along the way.
